Reflection #5 (week)

This week was full of paper work and homework that almost killed my membrane.  Every day it was a new topic to learn and after every break there was more worksheets.  This week was short but it was full knowledge that we needed to know by Friday.

This week we had covered Pepeke Ua Painu, Nono'a He, we learned more about Na Mea Ohana, Pepeke E Painu, Ko/Ka Markers and another word used to also say 'A'ole which was Mai.  We took the quiz on that Ohana topic also, on Tuesday. Like I said since this week was a short week so we only learned the basics on all of the major topics that I've said.  This week's quiz, I did pretty good and I was pretty proud of myself for getting a descent grade of a 94% out of 100.  The Ko and the Ka markers were kind of hard at first when Kumu was explaining it to us, but after a few questions to my classmates I finally knew how to work it and how to use it correctly.  One of the days in this week we learned a knew Hawaiian word that could be used in negative statements  to say the english word Don't. That word is "Mai", and it is used in Pepeke E Painu which is used for commands or suggests to a person, but remember you only can command or suggest someone if they are in front of you and not somewhere else.  On Wednesday it wasn't a break day after all, it was a stressfull day of family problems and the worst thing was that Kumu gave us so much homework that he expected us to do, even though we didn't really go over it that much. But thankfully he gave us one of those helping paper that showed me step by step how to do each statement/topic in both the positive way and the negitive way.  The only struggles I had this week were on the Ho'ike day when it came to the written part, I just didn't have much ideas to write so I kind of failed on that part of the test.  Now I know I should really study and boost my head for more mana'o to write about the topic when it is the finals day.

Honestly even though we had a day off this week I still think it felt as if it was a normal week full of thinking, learning and fun.  I loved this week because it ended off with some planting, to bring home two hawaiian crops at the last day of summer school.
